The 1870 census lists him living in the Roundhead township in Hardin Co OH. Buried at Yelverton-Sloan Cemetery in Taylor Creek Township in Hardin Co OH Farmer before the war then Union soldier in Civil War. Enlisted at 31 years old on 11 Nov 1861 for Company E of Ohio 82nd Infantry Regiment. Worked as a hostler (handled horses & wagons for infantry troops) then after the Battle of Gettysburg he was a nurse at the field hospital at the battlefield.
