Mechanical Restoration

2009 Work: A few VW 1500 Club members got our chrome parts together for replating in May, thanks to Bob Walton. Amazing results for $1065!

2005 Work: The chassis disassembly continued and I focused on the rear end. The subframe components were powdercoated and look like new. I spent several months scrubbing the transmission & repainting the rear axles. The rear brakes were completely rebuilt and the brake drums were repainted. A few T34 owners got together and had the lug nuts restored to their authentic "black zinc" style.

2004 Work: After the initial disassembly in mid-2004 I got busy with the restoration of a few parts. The rims & engine tin were powdercoated. And I bought a full set of the Coker BF Goodrich thin whitewall radial tires. I sanded & repainted the headlight & foglight parts but still need to find a few components.
