FINDING CHASSIS, BODY, & ENGINE NUMBERS: There are three VIN numbers on each T34, the body, the chassis,
and the engine. The body VIN# is located inside the spare tire area on an aluminum plate riveted to the right side of the
inner wall, stamped into that plate. The chassis VIN# is located under the rear seat, stamped into a black plate. And the
engine VIN# is stamped on the center of the engine case. If the T34 is original then the body & chassis numbers should
match. If these numbers do not match then the chassis has usually been replaced at some point with another chassis, usually
from a Type 3 vehicle.
GETTING YOUR T34s BIRTH CERTIFICATE: The VW Museum has a service to get your individual T34s production
information including original engine #, original colors, production date, delivery, date, & delivery destination. The
price for this service is 25 euros which you have to pay "cash with order" ($33 US Dollars/25 Euros cash, or Visa/Mastercard with
card number & expiration date). For fax requests, send the credit card info, your full name & address, & VIN# to 011 5361
